From the lips of babes...

This week on more than one occasion, the timing and situation of things said by my MLC truly took me by surprise. The first occasion occurred at my aunt's kitchen table as I was tearfully sharing a concern, he looked up and began to sing the Steve Green's scripture song..."when I am afraid I will trust in Thee...." Then this morning while I was dressing him for church he made up a tune that included the words "honor your mother, it will keep you from trouble." He is learning that for which I am very grateful, as he truly has been acting like a rather normal 3 year old lately. Also, this morning he greeted folks after church telling them that "his birthday is gonna start!" (It's in May...the end of May.) I suppose he is hoping for a month long celebration!

That reminds me of when Edwin Dale was about 2, and he was learning "Thou shalt not covet". When he needed to recite if for his Grandma, he said "Thou shalt not have it". :)

that is precious Connie. . . . I did not realize our kids were the same age. Ashlyn will be four May 4 and that is all she talks about. :) Lisa H. in Pensacola

My mind turned to this posting this morning during church. MLC turned to me after his daddy made reference to "angelic beings"...and said to me, "I like jelly beans!" So funny! Sometimes I wonder if they are listening. But then when they are listening, what are they hearing?
