Huge Announcement for my Family!!!

As this post below will indicate, next month my parents will be returning to the States after 23 years of missionary service in the country of Honduras. We are eager and feel blessed to receive them back into States, but even more excited, knowing they will be living in our State!
I am looking forward to making many memories together in the upcoming years.

Below is the e-mail my father posted to his family, friends, and supporting churches.

Dear Brethren,

Greetings in the precious name of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. God is so good to all of us in innumerable ways. His ways are not our ways and He is continually teaching His children to trust and to rely in His word. We must trust and obey, and not forget that He “daily loadeth us with benefits.”

The Lord has sold our house, and we finally have a departure date to leave Honduras on December 12, 2008. This means that we have to finish packing, submit a list of list of the contents of each box, and arrange for loading and exporting our household goods back to the states.

Also it is in our plans to go for the last time to the Balfate and Río Esteban areas and visit with the brethren, preach in their assemblies, and take some food and medicines to them. We do thank each of the churches which have given toward this flood relief from the disaster they have suffered. They have expressed their gratitude to each of you who have helped.

When we arrive in the States, we will have to go to Sylvia’s appointment with the heart doctor in Lexington, KY on the 16^th. I would like to be able to be with the Bryan Station Baptist Church to tell them thanks for the 23 years of a wonderful relationship with them. They voted to be our home church and the one who gave us the authority to do mission work in this country in 1985. It has been a blessing for Sylvia and me to serve the Lord here. We have seen many spiritual blessings as we have labored. The Lord has saved many people and four churches have been organized as a result of God’s grace and mercy. Thank you all so much for the support you have sent for this mission work. Some of you have supported us for the full 23 years and we thank you so much. Our return and getting settled in our new place of service in the Philadelphia B.C., in Decatur, AL will take some time.

Its that time of year again!

We had very few shopping trips growing up, but at this time of year we all got a bag full of new things....our own school supplies!

Takes me back to the smell of a fresh box of crayons, new pencils, elmers glue, folders, my very own Trapper Keeper...(remember those)....the joy of getting a new backpack, lunch box, and maybe even a new pair of shoes.

YEP, it is finally time for the boys to return to school! They are so very ready to see their friends again! Thursday I will go and see whom their teachers will be! They already have their backpacks loaded with their stack of supplies. They are ready!!!

It will be interesting to see how MLC and I adjust to the other brothers being at school all day long. The house will be so nap conducive. Who knows, maybe I will even get a nap!?!?!

I must admit, I will miss all the good things about summer! The times of family togetherness, the time of fellowship during our annual Bible Conference, All-Stars the whole month of June (EDC we were so proud of you and how well you performed), many days spent at the pool, the picking tomatoes together, bike rides and many walks with the boys. The 4th of July potluck on the square was great!! Some of my favorite memories of the summer is their enjoyment at Blue Springs and Westpoint Lake. The hours spent at the Valley Rec Center...swimming and shooting hoops with the boys...I love hearing EDC or JOC saying,"Nice shot, Mom!" There is nothing much more fun than getting a little aggressive on the basketball court with EJC, my DH....after all these years!!! Bible camp, too, was such a highlight of our summer with JOC's conversion! Camp is such a special opportunity to develop great friendships! The Lord truly blessed us this summer with lots of time with very special friends; rekindling old ones and making new! Even though the boys did not join us on the Pastors' Retreat, it too was a needed time of revitalizing for EJC and me....and proved to be special for the boys as well, considering they were not ready for our return.

The past two weeks have been spent trying to regain some structure prior to school starting. The thought of getting back into the routine of getting up, practicing violin, breakfast, review for tests and out the door this year by 7 or 7:15am seems almost impossible. This momma is gonna have to get to bed a little earlier so this can occur!!!

Seasons

It is amazing and interesting to me that our Heavenly Father created the seasons. Not only the obvious ones in nature, but also the life seasons through which we live. Isn't it interesting that some of our favorite times of the year are during the change of seasons. The cool days following the sweltering days of summer as well as the warming after the winters' chill. The change is good and welcome. May we keep that in mind as the Lord provides us with the changes between the various seasons of our own lives. The descriptions of our seasons differ. For some it may be the seasons within ones education, career, parenthood, or relationships. It is a comfort to stay reminded that our Father knows our needs and He it is that is bringing the change of seasons in our lives.

Eccl 3:1 To every thing there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven:

James 1:17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.
