Our Snowy Day

Significant, because the last snow worth mentioning fell back in 1993 and melted by 11am!

Considering that that if I did the math correctly, my man clan may be out of the house before we get snow like this again in 16 years!  So, I took the day off and played all day.

Snow ball fights at our city square

Hunting down snow men...

finally built their own snowman...the best these cold fingers could do...needed to go home for some warming!

the snow even brought dads home from work early

If there is lovin to be had this little man will be there...even in a snow storm:-)
By the way, I was really missing my hat...the mother love in me let the boy in the yellow coat use it!!!  Brr...I did not stay out long for that photo op!

There are more pictures to come!  Hope you enjoyed a little glimpse of our real winter weather:-)
It truly made a very memorable day!

Nothin but snow pics from our trip to KY! MLC's first snow!!

After a long drive in icy conditions we were thankful to arrive safely in Lexington. The following morning, I was blessed to awake to beautiful freshly fallen snow! Not too much, just enough to please the children with a "snow day"....."NO SCHOOL!"...and just enough to make the landscape picturesque. For those of you that see more snow than once every 5 years, you can laugh at me. This Alabama girl, was squealing with delight! MLC was excited too!

View from the front door of my "inn":-)

MLC and MOM in front of the front door of our "inn"!

My dear, little sister, that I never had! Me and Z in our make-up-less glory! Such a lovely day, chillin out at the house all day! Thanks for such a wonderful day and visit! Yet another one of those moms to only boys. Makes and takes unique women!

The neighbor boys being too cool!

Nothing more classic that snow angels!

At this point the gloves were just getting in the way for this little one from Alabama....who had been playing out in the sandbox in 70 degree weather days earlier!!!

Not much brings such pleasure as throwing snow at others!
Got such a great, fun reaction!

It did not take him long to realize that gloves are his friend!

Contemplating his strategy.....what or who will be his next target?

Ok, blue eyes, who will it be?!?!?

Ah ha! He has figured it out! See his glee!
What a cutie pie!!!!!

Snow ice cream was a hit!

Playdate for MLC

A construction work zone for them...............................

A delicious concoction for her!!!

All enjoying a fall-like day in December! Nothing like 70
degree weather during winter. A heaven sent reprieve from the frigidity!

It is amazing the fun that can be had from a Rubbermaid full of sand!!!
Who needs a "real sand box"?

Our first hard freeze!

To celebrate cold weather...It is finally feeling like November this week. Who knows what the weather will be next week. Here in the Southeast, there is no putting away the summer clothes. We just live with overflowing closets all winter, because one day it may be freezing and the next has a high in the 70's. Personally, it suits me fine. I suppose after living here 20 years, it is the norm to me. I view those gorgeous Spring-like days as a "heaven sent" reprieve from the cold. I have friend; however, who wishes for a constant of freezing at night and highs of 40s and 50s so this celebration post is for her!

Here's a link to the recipe that celebrates cold weather! None for me...still doing the diet thing! My man clan loved it! Try Peppermint Hot Chocolate on your clan!
